Schick Intuition Plus Razor

Ok so now that summer is officially here I can no longer procrastinate when it comes to shaving my legs. It will be 90 plus degrees the rest of the week so it’s just too darn hot to rock pants every day. Last night while I was in Target I ran across the Schick Intuition razor with the moisture bar attached, doing away with the need for shaving cream. I must say I loved using this product. The fact that I was able to skip a step and just run the razor over my legs was pure heaven.

There have been many times when I’ve gotten in the shower prepared to shave my legs and just as soon as I’m soaking wet I realize I left the shaving cream or the new razor head on the other side of the bathroom. I won’t have to worry about that happening anymore. Only one down side to using this so far, it’s easy to miss a spot on your legs. The razor doesn’t provide much lather so it’s kind of difficult to see what hasn’t been shaved.

So for that reason I rate it at a B+. Rating might go up the more I use it… especially when I travel. The all-in-one quality will cut down on packing so many toiletries :)

Admittedly I was never a mani/pedi kind of girl until I started dating my now husband that introduced me to the practice of up keeping my nails (He did the same for my eye brows). In his 'oh so adorable way' he insisted that I let him treat me to the spa... he created a monster. Funny thing is, he has yet to complain about that being a line item in our household budget. You think I can slip in shoe shopping too??

Anyway, Summer is around the corner and it's time to get back into the swing of things when it comes to open toe shoes. And that doesn't mean you have to run out to your nearest nail shop. I'm still not 100 % on someone touching my feet but I love the way I feel so feminine afterwards. At home pedicures are often times just as effective as the ones done is a salon. With a little of your favorite salt or sugar scrub, a pumice stone and over night application of Vaseline incubated with your socks your feet will be ready to sport a beautiful summer sandal. Since I'm not a big fan of white tips I love, love topping of a pedicure with a pop of color on my toes. Here are some trends this Spring/Summer. Caution! be sure to apply a base coat to prevent staining of your nail beds.

Products I LUV

Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 2:13 PM Posted by Laverne Labels:

Thought I'd share a few products I'm loving right now...

1. Pure Coconut Oil is a light oil often used for cooking. I love this after a shower on my elbows and knees. It's also great for a mid-day spruce up for my curls. Along with it's delicious smell it's hailed has the best dry scalp treatment money can buy.

2. OK, so I'm not 100% on Carol's Daughter products but i do like the hair smoothie conditioner. It's great for deep conditioning and has a great smell that last with you all day.

3. While my husband and I were browsing through LUSH getting sold on every product by the 'world's best' salesman we found Flying Fox body wash. Neither of us are big on fragrances in soaps and detergent but this one won us over. It smells like pure honeysuckles, yet not too floral, and works on both men and women. Love, Love, Love the scent and the second hand aromatherapy I get when my hubby uses it.

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE Sephora and will gladly spend my whole paycheck in there. Even though my co-workers never will see it. Lately, however, times are tight and I simply can't afford to spend $30 on the latest greatest serum. Besides that, Sephora is a bit of a drive from my house. I'm sure I'm not alone on this, so I've compiled a list of best 'bang for your buck' items that can be found on your local beauty aisle.

Check it:

1. Essie Nail Polish in Mademoiselle
2. Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner
3. Frederic Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist
4. Cover Girl Smoky Shadow Blast Smoke
5. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara - Very Black
6. Denman - D3 - Diamante Red

My co-workers often gawk at how clear and youthful my skin looks. They often think I have makeup on to help even out my complexion. Not the case! I'm still trying to graduate to wearing makeup everyday. I truly believe the key to youth is PRIMARILY good DNA and SECONDLY moisture. The tried and true best way to obtain moisture is to drink water. Besides getting your daily dose of water there are a plethora of products on the market that promise to quench your skin's thirst.

The number ONE moisture retainer:

Yes i said it. Good old Vaseline. The road map to the fountain of youth. The best way to use is fresh out of the shower and just after you use your daily body lotion. I usually do an application before bed that way I can skip the slippery feeling it gives you. It can definitely rival that $20 jar of body butter you got suckered into buying and is sitting under your bathroom sink waiting to get rotated into your beauty regimen.

So run and get your jar and slather it up!
